South Franklin Township is part of the McGuffey School District. The predominance of development in the Township is residential in nature with nearly 50% of all land use classified as agricultural in character. The Township is home to over 2,868 (Census 2020) residents and is 21.1 square miles in area. South Franklin Township is located in southern Washington County, Pennsylvania approximately 25 miles southwest of Pittsburgh.
